Simple menu and delicious gyros! This literal hole in the wall place is one of the hidden gems in the area.
Authentic, delicious falafel!
Pretty disappointed I ordered from Uber eats and their Gyros are not wrapped in a pita like the pictures and description show. Nowhere on there does it say they wrap in a tortilla, so the flavor is entirely different. When I called they claimed it’s hard to do delivery with a pita (but some of their local competitors still deliver items in a pita) and they should have disclosed this. Will not order again.
Tzatziki sauce has a cinnamon flavor, which is an odd twist for gyros -- wouldn't order anything topped with this sauce again. Other than that.. good lamb, large portions, pita bread on point.
5 Star Surprise. Fresh & delicious authentic Mediterranean food. Basically take away with a few tables but so worth. Friendly efficient service. Worth your time & effort.
I come here every chance I get. Staff are friendly, service is reasonably quick, and toppings are great! Try the chopped egg plant on the bar. It's fried and marinated just like how we southern folk like!
The service was great and the prices are fair and the food is to die for if you've ever been to Greece if you've ever had any meal in the Mediterranean this place is for you not much to look at from the outside and inside I took up 50% of the seating there was one other seat if you're looking for fast in and out off-site dining this is the place for you we will return
Great food, I'd recommend trying they gyros. They have a full bar of toppings . It is somewhat of a hold-in-the-wall. Very small place, not alot of seating. Quick bite to eat.
Great food. Friendly people.
Good authentic Greek food. Plain atmosphere. Friendly service!
This is one the best Gyro I have had in a while. As I was hungry and wanted to eat something Halal. This lady prepares food with love. Love this place. Been there with my partner and we enjoyed the food to the last bite. She ate the who Baklawa and did not even offer me to taste. A must go and recommended place.
This is a delightful place. It's tiny and efficient. Today was a one man show cranking out great food. Everything is fresh and tastes non frozen and not canned. If you want a delicious and authentic gyro this is your spot.Pros:- super tasty- they work with Uber eats.- decent prices for food.- pretty quick food.Cons:- pretty much take out only
Awesome food I went there today for the first time in a year-and-a-half because I had moved away and now I moved awesome great food!
Long wait and very greasy .... Gave me heartburn all afternoon. Better to eat at home.
Hands down best gyro in the Roanoke valley. And honestly best I've ever had after years of trying them in different cities. Their recipe is so rich and flavorful, cant get enough!
Great food at a very fair price with extremely friendly if you are in Salem and want a gyro don't let the building fool you... This is the place to go!!!
love this place , I have not been there as often as I like to though.best gyro in town , clean place and a friendly owner.
Great place to eat a gyro and other good food
We like to get the special and then have a picnic down the road at the Greenway. The chickpeas are tangy and delicious!
Today was my first visit to Abrakababra and I had a gyro, hummus, side of fries, and a few items from the toppings bar - black olives, peperoncini, and a tomato and cucumber relish. Everything was fresh, tasty, and fantastic! I also really enjoyed listening to and talking with Fatima - one of the owners. I'll be going back as much as possible!
Stop on a stress free Saturday for a lamb gyro and add feta with favorite toppings, black olives, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppercinni a , onions cucumber dressing and Italian mmmm good. Fresh and friendly and fast. Thanks for being a great place!!
I absolutely love this restaurant! Every time my husband and I go I swear the lamb gets even better. Very affordable, great portions, and truly a hidden gem of the community. I will continue to frequent here!
Fatima is so confident. I love it! The people here are so nice and the food is good! Cute little shop.
Amazingly tasty, best around
What can you say about the best gyros you've ever tasted. The place is extremely small but it's large enough to serve to cook two lamb spools and to slice them in the old fashioned way. Something not done anywhere else in this valley, that I'm aware of. A large offerings of Mediterranean condiments is offered for your choice, load 'em up. ENJOY!
Amazing food and wonderful service!
Food wasn't bad, but it was not too exciting either. That's the reason for 3 stars. I had ordered chicken platter and the chicken did not have any flavor to it, it was just bland and the rice okayish.
Authentic food. Lamb was seasoned perfectly. Just a little too much tzatziki ok the gyro. Next time I'll get it on the side, but there will definitely be a next time.
Love eating here. It's tiny, but has the BEST falafels and super delicious gyros!
Nice small spot but food is good
Great gyros, the best around! You can even put your own toppings on them from jalapenos to olives and everything in between.
Absolutley delicious! Small, only 6 seats inside. But there is outdoor seating. I just opt for take out! The owner is very polite, & friendly! Prices are sweet!
Small place but food is very tasty. Best for take away...it has vegetarian food also.
Delicious gyros reminded me of eating at NYC the menu prices are very affordable and the chef behind the counter is all pro I finally found a decent place to eat in Salem VA
Great little place for homemade Greek food. The salad with warm, seasoned gyro meat was delicious topped with creamy tzatziki sauce. I was too full for dessert so I took the baklava to go!
The gyro is fantastic. Friendly service and fresh fresh fresh. I'd recommend anyone that wants good Greek food to come here.
Super fresh really good food. Definitely recommend. It looks kinda iffy from the outside, but clean and welcoming on the inside!
This dude literally just sailed his boat through the Mediterranean Sea to Salem, Virginia. As fresh and authentic as you will find anywhere.
Woahh! This place is awesome. The food was spectacular. Definitely warrants a return trip. It's a small space, plan on sitting outside at one of their picnic tables or taking it to go.
I can not sing enough praises about my favorite place to eat. I would eat here everyday if I could. The staff is so friendly and inviting. I love the wife and husband that own the place.
Great prices and awesome unique food for the area
This food is absolutely delicious! Best gyro I have ever tasted! Passed this place for years...cannot believe what I have been missing!!
Amazing food, great price, friendly people. It’s small inside but definitely worth it. Will be back for sure!
A hole in the wall mom and pop store always has the best food and the best service! Thanks!
The best falafel and gyros. Owner is awesome. Its worth it to come here. They have a small salad bar with toppings such as pickled egg plant, olives, chickpeas and then lettuce and tomatos. I get a little of everything to go with my falafel. Its very small but they are very good at what they do. Give it a try. I highly doubt you would be disappointed.
Love it best in the area
Good place for a quick gyro! Hummus was excellent.
Superb spot. Stopped here with my wife on our road trip. Off the beaten path from the highway, and worth it. Got a chicken gyro and she got a salad. Homemade toppings 100% delish. Spoke to the owner - Egyptian man. Lived in NYC then moved to Salem for peace and quiet. Super humble guy. The place is super small...no elbow room!
Won’t be back. WAY too much garlic in everything and no other flavor. The “ meat” is so over processed that the texture isn’t meat anymore just brown stuff that is piled on a bunch of lettuce tomato cucumbers and a spicy pepper and 2 tiny pieces of feta. Yes they have a toppings bar but most of it is duplications except the garbanzos which were good and the eggplant which was dark and the skin is tough . $9.25 for this is way too much. We were going to sit outside but there isn’t any shade and it’s a busy street corner. We opted for the two least rickety stools. There were no other customers even though it was noon. The older gentlemen was polite but the two younger men were just plain creepy. Staring staring staring unfriendly eyes and talking in Arabic to each other and more staring. We left and won’t be back.
Good as always
